Just yesterday I read a quote that said "Don't give up before the miracle happens" and it resonated deep within me. Nothing has been easy but it's been worth the sacrifice and receiving this email today validated just that. When I started this journey it was absolutely with greater purpose and that was just wanting to help. Sometimes, when I get the slightest thought of doubt God blesses me with sparks of light bright enough to get me back to my center. This email is proof that quitting before the miracle happens is just not an option. Lets #keepgoing ... This email, and every email I get from my loves, means everything to me!

Hey sugars :)  Heres a few fun shots from my recent campaign shoot with My Girlfriends Closet Boutique :) 

My heart has been breaking over the devastation that Sandy has left behind here in my city and it's been quite the experience for my fellow New Yorkers to say the least. I wasn't affected but I have a few friends who lost almost everything they own, including my best friend Cat. She lived in a basement apartment in Sea Gate, Brooklyn and you can see from the photo below how bad it got for her. (thats her fridge floating in her kitchen) Her mothers home in Staten Island was also hit hard by Sandy but thankfully they are ok and in a safe place. If you are able to support donations can be made via paypal using the email address [email protected]. Any amount is appreciated as she just needs some items like clothing, a mattress, etc to get her back on her feet. I'm in awe of the strength and resiliency that New Yorkers have during times like this. Everyone is making the best of the situation while waiting for power, heat, water and gas to become available again. Please pray for those in need and please help in any way you can, if you can. Blessings, love and light...

Kudos to Jennifer Livingston at WKBT News with her classy and compelling response to a fat-shaming email from a bully. This is beyond inspiring...and kudos to the team at WKBT for being so supportive of her and giving her the platform to address this. (more here)

Sugarloves!  Check out my new swimsuit editorial in the summer issue of Pose Magazine with CeCe Winan's on the cover!  This was a super fun shoot to do alongside yummy models Christina and Jeannie and I was SO excited to finally work with photographer Krista Svalbonas .  And, plus, who doesn't love Monif C. and her rockin' bathingsuits?  It was a win win situation in every way possible.  Hugs to Tiffany and Jay at POSE for this awesome opportunity :)  Check out the full editorial here. :) 

As you may or may not know I've been a contributor for Plus Model Magazine for 3 years now.  I get to feeature and interview models on the rise in the industry and love helping models get an opportunity to shine through our mag.  I'm lucky enough to have a great support system at PLUS and Maddy, my editor, has always been so great about hepling me promote my projects and including me in the magazine from time to time.  This time, she called to say she wanted to feature me in her I Am Plus campaign and I couldn't be more honored :)  What's super special about this campaign is that these photos were all unretouched and just had color correction.  It was a unique opportunity to do something natural and I loved it!  See the full feature here. :)  Special hugs to Maddy, those featured, the yummy supporters and the team :) xoxo

Hiiiiii babyloves!  I hope all is well with all of you.  I just got back into town and wanted to share some pics from my adventures this past month!

Before heading out to Atlantic City for my mini vacay I stopped in to give my friend Roble hugs and love for his birthday (so fun!).  I rocked my Monif C. convertible dress aka my new favorite thing in my closet.  I feel like when Monif went to design that dress she had me (and my booty) in mind! lol LOVED it :)  

To AC we go!  I got to see Beyonce live at the GORGEOUS new Revel Resort grand opening in Atlantic City (special hugs to my sweet friends Asa and Robert).   I had front row seats to see Bey (I know..cray) and, let me tell you, the energy was NUTS!  Luke James, who was the opening act, sounded smooth like butter too ;) 

Everyone and their mama came out to see her but I tell you my heart stopped for about 2 seconds when Michelle Obama walked in with her girls.  The only person that could take my attention away from Beyonce was our FLOTUS and it was so fun to watch them dance and sing every song.  They had a blast!  The whole show was amazing, aesthetically very pleasing and Beyonce worked her butt off.  The voice? Incredible.  I paid attention to every detail: the dancers, the choreography, the lighting, the production, etc...and I loved it.  Kudos to Bey and her team!!  Check out the photos I took:

I also finally got the chance to rock my new pin-up style ModCloth bikini poolside at Revel ;)   I loved the way it fit my booty and, well, who doesn't love cherries?? ;)   And since we are on the topic of bikini's I wanted take the time to urge you plus gals to rock whatever it is you desire to rock at the pool/beach this summer.  No coverups!  We only get one life to live so don't waste your time worrying about what anyone else has to say.  Do what makes you happy honey!  I absolutely wanted to share this awesome post by my good friend Gabi Fresh: Fatkini 2012.  I love her for showing off what her mama gave her and giving women the confidence to wear bikini's this summer and in style!  Please follow her blog.  She offers amazing fashion tips and, well, she's hot.  

After AC I jetted off to LA and did a shoot with the ever so lovely Inez Lewis.   Fellow plus model Danielle Line joined me on set and my girl Reah Norman was there to help with her styling expertise!  (Go team PLUS!)

I also got to see my baby brother graduate high school which was the highlight of my trip.  And no big deal but my brother absolutely did the dougie right after he accepted his diploma on stage.  That's my baby! lol

Hey sugar loves!  I hope all of you are smiling and enjoying today.  SO much has been going on the past month and I had to update you with the latest.  I shot an episode of 30 ROCK with Sherri Shepherd, Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey.  It was SUCH an amazing experience to watch the pros in action.  I learned a lot being on set with the all-star cast.  I did a super funny scene with Sherri but unfortunately it got cut.  The experience was awesome and I'm so glad I get to say I was a part of it.  I also got to check out the off-Broadway show Fuerza Bruta (which I had seen twice before) with Usher!  (shout-out to my girl Cat Peoples for the hook-up!)  It was a great way to promote his new album and he did a great job!! It's hard to explain his character in the show but lets just say it invloves lots of running, flying and rain.  Ya, I know.  

I've also been busy with photoshoots and have a few new fun things to show you this summer!  I recently got back from Atlanta and excited to share the editorial I shot which comes out in August.  I've been meeting and working with such amazing people that I admire in the industry and feel super blessed to be having all this fun. 

And p.s. I had the opportunity to go to my first ever basketball game a week or so ago and it just so happened to be a playoffs game between the Miami Heat and the NY Knicks.  I also took a pretty cool shot of Lebron himself :)   Words can't express how cool it was!  And, you know, being that close to the basketball players was totes fine with me ;)  p.p.s. Kanye West and I may or may not have locked eyes a few times but that's a different story for a different day ;)

A very special shout-out to everyone in Germany who got to watch BIG SEXY for the first time.  I'm getting lots of fan mail and I so appreciate the support!

I wanted to take a second to recognize my dear friend, mentor, teammate, industry icon and pioneer Mia Amber Davis who we lost a year ago today.  Her beauty, love and kindness shines bright everyday and everything I do in my career is done with her in mind.  You can see a lovely tribute from PLUS Model Magazine for our friend here.
