Months ago I got a call from my good friend and photographer Jerris Madison with the news that shook me for days. He told me he wanted me on the cover of his magazine, Obvious, for their special "Model Issue". This issue will include my editorial and interview and it's especially exciting for me because its their first print issue. It's 6 covers total for this issue and its "flip" style (3 versions). I am so blessed and honored to share my flip cover with Actor Brian White and his amazing wife Paula. The other covers include 3 fresh faces, model Cavier Coleman and actor Darryl Stephens. This took weeks to prepare and many, many hands to put together. The team behind this shoot were amongst some of the most talented and professional I have ever seen since stepping into this industry a few years ago. People keep asking me, "how does it feel?" and honestly...I still have yet to feel anything beyond humbled and overwhelmed. I recognize I am blessed and lucky to be chosen. I am especially lucky to have a friend like Jerris who really saw something in me and decided to take a chance. The support and love from my family and peers have touched me deeply and I promise that I will continue to do my best to represent well. This is more than just a pretty picture to me. It's an expression of growth and change in this industry and possibly some inspiration for the young girls in the corner that need to hear and see positivity everyday. Really...this one's for you.
I can't wait for you to see the full editorial and interview when it comes out in print May 10th!

Hey all! I will be on a show called "The Fashion Team" on the TV Guide Network where I'll be modeling plus celebrity fashion. My friend and funny gal Erica Watson is hosting this segment and one of my fave plus girls, Jeannie, is modeling with me. We had tons of fun taping at ReDress NYC (which happens to be the most awesome vintage boutique a plus gal has ever seen) and I'm super excited for all of you to see it. It airs this Friday, Nov. 19th at 7:30pm on the TV Guide Network. Set your tivos! (click on photo for listings)
I had the pleasure of walking for designer Size Queen at the ReDress Indie Trunk Show on November 12th. The event was not only covered by all the fab fashion blogs but Vogue was in the house! It was really fun to reunite with plus models I hadn't seen in a while and see all the lovely shop girls from ReDress! There were tons of laughter backstage, awesome fashion and great energy on stage. I love me some runway!!! Check out the footage from Vogue.it by clicking on the photo below. Also, click on my runway photo for video coverage of the event by Manik Mag along with a great interview with Mia Amber. Yay Redress!! (redressnyc.com is a MUST)
Thank you all who came to support the Madison Plus Style Contest at Lord and Taylor Fashion's Night Out! It was so much fun and so great to see so many gorgeous familiar faces around me. Everyone looked super snazzy in their Sex and the City inspired 'fits and it was truly a magical night. I won a Lord and Taylor gift card and will be posting pics of my special finds soon. Special thanks to the ladies of MP for making me feel like a million bucks. Click both boxes below for photos :)
